5 Ways to Set Your Goals And Actually Stick to Them

Every end of the year, many of us set new goals for the year to come by analyzing what we accomplished on the previous year, celebrating the goals that we achieved and many times disregarding the ones we weren’t able to conquer.

This year let’s do things a little differently:

1. Visualize yourself achieving your goals.

As per Remez Sasson, creative visualization can improve your life and attract to you success and prosperity. By attracting these visions (goals) into your life, there is a higher probability of success in attaining them.

2. Divide them in categories and by time periods.

Our minds can most certainly visualize the big picture, but in order to stick to our set goals, it is important that we break them down. This way it is easier to focus, build momentum and keep going.

3. Prepare yourself to embrace success.

On our journey to achieving our goals, we might encounter some set backs, moments of doubt, or insecurities. A way to face these situations is by preparing your tasks ahead of time that way when a certain situation arises, you are able to dedicate the time and the focus to solve it.

4. Write your goals down and place them were you can see them.

By looking at your goals on a daily basis, you remind yourself of what you are working so hard for. You will always have something to look forward to and goals become measurable. According to a study done by Gail Matthews at Dominican University, those who wrote down their goals accomplished significantly more than those who did not write down their goals.

5. Know that you CAN accomplish them.

Believe you can and you’re half way there. Never doubt yourself on those things you set your mind to. Attitude is everything. When you have a clear mission and vision, and your goals, which can be adjusted as you go along, are clear, put the car in motion. You cannot move a parked car. Have faith in your potential, and believe in yourself.

I particularly like this layout created by an amazing business coach and friend, Suz Amaro, and her team at ViveSmart. It’s set in Spanish but can be translated into the language of your preference.

May this year be an amazing one and may we walk towards our goals with faith, determination, appreciation, and heart.

Looking forward to hearing from you about some of your goal setting techniques.

Infinite blessings,

Anadel
