Key Ingredient in Life: Self Love

If you are an entrepreneur, a corporate employee, an employer, a human being! This video is for you.

If you’ve ever heard someone tell you, You’re too fat, you’re too thin, you’re too short, you’re too tall, you’re not smart, your work sucks, you’re worthless, you’re not good enough. This video is for you.

Did you know that the one thing that is most likely to suffer damage in today’s workplace is precisely what most of us hope to get there – self-esteem.

The labels previously mentioned or descriptions of ourselves by other people, have accompanied many of us at some point in our lives.

This labeling affects our self-image and impacts us both in our personal and professional life. The cannons that are sold to us nowadays and the pressured put upon us by the media, the people in our lives, our co-workers, our managers, our work team, affect our performance and efficiency in our day to day activities.

Unfortunately, with the “competitiveness” that exists nowadays, everywhere we go, boost in morale and self-esteem are not necessarily in a person’s priority list of focus.

The person ends up falling short of their potential, becoming depressed, low in energy, and tolerate abusive situations and relationships.

It is time to start valuing yourself for what you’re worth. Love and be compassionate with yourself. It is not narcissistic. It is SELF-LOVE!! Think about it…. if you don’t love yourself enough and you allow others to affect your self-esteem then you will become more vulnerable to hurtful situations and relationships.

I had a period in my life when work relationships were hard, when I wasn’t in my “ideal weight,” when, in plain english, I didn’t like myself and was allowing people and situations to constantly hurt me.

It wasn’t until I got back to my roots and my true self, that I realized the unnecessary pain that I was putting myself through. So I went back to looking in the mirror and telling myself that I matter and that I simply rock! My parents and close friends laugh, because when they ask me “hey Ana, how are you?” I answer “Estoy buena” — “I’m hot!” and now I add “I’m hot and I’m happy!” Life is beautiful and I have CHOSEN to be happy.

You are your own judge. Don’t give others the power to underestimate you or make you feel inferior. Think of what makes you special; of everything that you have to offer to the world. We all have plenty to offer to those around us. Always remembering to first work on your self-love.

  • Use daily affirmations
  • Learn to tolerate positive feedback
  • Don’t be afraid to confront your failings
  • Go on a date with yourself
  • Understand that no-one is perfect
  • And most importantly, learn to love your imperfections

Until I see you next time, remember to always LAFLove unconditionally – Accept Without Judgements – and Forgive Yourselves and Others.
