Corporate Bullying Exists

64% of adults worldwide have been bullied at work. 49% of adults in the US have been targets in the workplace. That means 54 million americans suffering from anxiety, depression, reduced morale, lack of confidence, lack of self love, low productivity levels, weight problems, and in many occasions suicidal thoughts. This is a major issue that is rarely recognized or accepted by neither the companies nor the bullies.

The economic loss to companies caused by workplace bullying is up to 40% due to costs in turnover, absenteeism, health care costs, losing high performing workers, and potential litigation costs. Employers, pay attention to your workplace environment, don’t underestimate the potential that you have by maintaining healthy and happy employees.

Victims tend to stay quiet and not act on it not to be labeled as “wimps” or be seen as “not strong enough for a corporate job.”

Try:

  1. Breathing and Meditating – Practicing different meditation techniques will help you stay calm and keep your perspective in life. It will also help you focus and see the magic of the situation in which you’re in.
  2. Exercising – when you exercise your body releases chemicals called endorphins which interact with the receptors in your brain reducing your perception or pain and basically making you feel HAPPY. Yoga is excellent for mind, body and spirit helping you balance and cope with life’s struggles.
  3. Reach out to your loved ones – seek for support from those close to you. You will be surprised how many people will be there to guide you and help you along the way. Be honest, don’t hold anything back, release limiting beliefs that might be stopping you from speaking up.
  4. Self Care and gratefulness – practice gratefulness and self care every single day of your life.
  5. Set clear goals – when you have clear goals in life, nothing that others say or do should affect your result.
  6. LAF – love.accept.forgive yourself and others for the situation that you’re going through. As it is when we live with LAFter that we start seeing the brighter side of life and clarity starts showing up.
