Overcome Fear and Rock it!

Every day we have the opportunity to start over and with this comes uncertainty, expectancy, fear, motivation, joy. A mix of emotions and feelings that can gear our day in different directions. We have the power to choose what direction we will take. When fear takes over it becomes very difficult to reach our highest selves and conquer those goals that we want to accomplish. As I read a section of Brendon Burchard’s the Motivation Manifesto I felt inspired to write about this, many times overlooked, subject of fear.

As Brendon puts it, “Fear is the destroyer of greatness.” When we walk into any situation, we have the power to choose freedom or greatness over fear. But, many of us, have conditioned ourselves to choose the latter. That’s when we need to ask ourselves, what lies behind all of this fear?

Take for example someone having a difficult time at work with a manager or another co-worker, if fear interferes, then it is very probable that this person will suffer in silence, feel lost, powerless, and many times like a failure. I feel identified as it happened to me for many years, but I was able to overcome this.

It is very important that we let go of those fears that are stopping us from speaking up, from reaching our full potential, from showing what we’re worth.

Coincidentally today, as I was writing this post, I was approached by my cousin Laura who, with a smile on her face, and as the proud mother of a super hyper, happy 4 year old, told me that my niece had learned how to jump out of a swing. I’m telling you, this child is fearless; this is the same child who goes to Disney and enjoys every single roller coaster that she can ride. And it makes me think, why, when we become adults, we become so fearful and how can we revert that?

The answer is right there in front of us:

  • Declare that you deserve amazing things in your life.
  • Open your heart to what every new day brings you.
  • If you feel fearful for any reason, connect to your breath. Inhale positive thoughts and exhale everything that doesn’t serve you.
  • Learn from your fears, from loss, from your hardships.
  • Connect to your true self, discover what your mission in life is and GO for it.

Meditation, different types of physical and mental exercises, and healthy habits are some tools that can be used to let go of whatever is holding you back.

Take a leap of faith and enjoy the journey.

I will leave you with this video of my niece’s perfect landing just because I think she’s awesome and too cute. ENJOY!

And remember to always LAF and spread LAFter with the world and everyone around you!

Infinite blessings,

Anadel
