It is in our struggles that we find clarity and peace to reach our highest potential. When I was working in the corporate world, my life was dull, without excitement, stressful and filled with anxiety. Every cell of my body wanted to try something new, but having certainty of receiving a paycheck every 15 days led me to hold on to my job.

Many days I felt like quitting. Most of the days I would cry as soon as I got home. During working hours my food choices were poor, I wasn’t focused, and my level of energy was simply too scattered, and mostly low.

After deciding to embark on a new journey, I was able to discover and learn many tools that would have changed how everything was during my corporate years.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, tired, anxious, depressed, and find yourself making the wrong food choices, below are some tools that you can use to change your patterns:

  • Meditate: Close your eyes, and focus on your breath. If any thoughts come to mind, just embrace them and then let them go. Meditation will calm you down and will help you have a clear mind during working hours.
  • Be humble: no matter how difficult a situation is at work or at home, always remember that we are all fighting our own battles. Be open to others and don’t over analyze others’ behaviors. In fact, send them love, light and energy.
  • Be mindful of your food choices: be aware of emotional eating. When we are stressed and under pressure we tend to make poor food choices. Ask yourself “Is this good for me?” “Is this nourishing for my body?”
  • Practice gratitude: it has been proven that being grateful brings joy, peace and happiness to people’s lives. If you’re having a bad day at work, think of something that you are grateful for, change your mindset, change your day.

We all go through stressful times, whether it is at home, at work, or in general in our daily lives. Let’s be mindful and opened to the unlimited possibilities that we have at our fingertips to make slight changes that could turn into big positive shifts in our lives.

And most importantly, always remember to LAF – Love unconditionally; Accept without judgements; Forgive yourself and others.

With love,

Ana
